A game listing has to name the platform precisely. A title can exist on two console generations, as a disc, as a code in a box, or as a download with no box at all. The photo of a console case does not prove a disc is included.
Hardware needs the same precision: the exact model, the storage, the plug type, and whether extra controllers in the photo are in the bundle. Region locks and account regions still matter for some software and currency, so read that line before you assume a code will redeem in the UK.
What to check
- Platform and generation, written in the title or specification.
- Disc, cartridge or a code, and the region of that code.
- Age rating printed for the UK or Europe.
- Bundle contents versus accessories only shown in the photo.
- Online requirements, subscriptions or account regions the game needs.
Easy mistakes
- A steelbook or controller pictured as part of a game-only listing.
- Digital codes that redeem in another country’s store.
- Console bundles that are a previous generation with a similar name.
Questions before you buy
- Will this redeem or play on the hardware you own?
- Is there a disc in the box?
- Does the age rating match the household you are buying for?

The checks on this page are ready to use on a live Amazon listing. A product card is added only after that listing has been checked. It will show its own photo, a short note, and a Sponsored button. This empty shelf is not a recommendation.
