Discover Cart is a buying-guide site. A category page can stand on its own with no product link at all. A sponsored button is added only after a person checks a live Amazon listing and records what they checked, in their own words.
What has to be written down
Each linked product is recorded with the ASIN, the product title as it appears on Amazon, the category, who the product is for, a note about what was checked, and the date of that check. The record has no price, star rating, review quote or sales estimate, so the site cannot display those figures by accident.
- The ASIN is the ten-character code Amazon prints on the product page.
- The note has to describe the listing, not paste someone else’s review.
- The date is the day the listing was looked at, not the day the product was launched.
- The button is labelled Sponsored and uses rel="sponsored".
What the button does
The button opens the Amazon product page. When the site’s Associates tag is switched on, that tag is added to the link so Amazon can attribute a qualifying purchase. The price, stock, delivery date and current seller are whatever Amazon shows at that moment. Discover Cart does not copy them, because they change and a copied price would be misleading.
What we will not publish
- Invented or estimated prices.
- Star ratings, review counts or quoted customer reviews.
- Sales ranks, unit-sold claims, or badges that pretend to be an independent test.
- A product we have not attached to a real ASIN and a check date.
If a check is more than six months old, the product page says so and asks you to confirm the listing yourself. Old notes stay visible rather than being quietly refreshed.
How the commission works
Discover Cart takes part in the Amazon Associates Programme. If you buy through a link that includes our tag, Amazon may pay a commission. That payment comes from Amazon’s programme. The button does not add a charge of its own on top of the price Amazon displays. Programme rates and rules are Amazon’s, and they can change.
Guides remain readable if you never click. A category with no products yet is unfinished stock, not a hidden recommendation.
