Beauty

Skin, hair and colour products checked for ingredients, shade names and who is allowed to sell them.

Guide updated 14 October 2026

Beauty listings go wrong when the shade, the size or the formulation is not the one you have used before. Compare the exact shade name and the millilitres, not the bottle shape. A reformulation can keep the old name.

Also look at who sells cosmetics. You want a seller you can trace, a full ingredients list, and a seal policy you accept. Patch testing and allergy advice belong to the brand and to you; a product page is not a personal recommendation from a clinician.

Skincare

Skincare listings need the size in millilitres, the shade if there is one, and whether you are buying a full product or a refill. A texture photo is not an ingredient list.

Patch testing and medical questions belong with the brand and, if you need it, a clinician. Discover Cart does not assess whether a cream suits your skin. Check the seal, the expiry style and the return rule for opened cosmetics before you rely on sending it back.

  • Volume and whether the item is a set, a miniature or a refill.
  • Shade name and undertone if colour is part of the product.
  • The return rule for opened or hygiene-sealed goods.

What to check

  • Shade or tone name and the size in millilitres or grams.
  • Ingredients list, including fragrance and common allergens if you already avoid them.
  • Expiry, batch, and whether the listing says the product is new and sealed.
  • The seller’s name, and whether the offer is fulfilled in a way you can return.
  • Cruelty-free, vegan or fragrance-free claims only when the listing states them.

Easy mistakes

  • Travel sizes shown large in the photo.
  • A shade range where only some tones are sold by the seller you selected.
  • Used or decanted products that do not say so in the title.

Questions before you buy

  • Is this the same shade code you already use?
  • Is the ingredients list on the listing, or only a marketing summary?
  • What is the seller’s policy if the seal is broken on arrival?

The checks on this page are ready to use on a live Amazon listing. A product card is added only after that listing has been checked. It will show its own photo, a short note, and a Sponsored button. This empty shelf is not a recommendation.
