Pet products are not interchangeable across species or sizes. A lead, harness, bed or food can be unsafe or simply useless when the weight range is wrong. Start with the animal you have, the weight or breed size the listing states, and the feeding or fitting note on the pack.
Discover Cart does not give veterinary advice. If you are changing food or buying a health-related product, use the label and ask a vet when you are unsure. For ordinary kit, check washability, chew resistance only where the maker states it, and whether a bowl or liner is included.
What to check
- Species and weight or neck/girth range.
- Food: complete or complementary, life stage, and the feeding note on the pack.
- Materials, washing, and any parts a pet could pull off.
- Size of beds and crates in centimetres, internal if available.
- Who the seller is, and the returns rule for food or hygiene products.
Easy mistakes
- Harnesses sized by a single “medium” with no measurement.
- Treats photographed as a complete diet.
- Crates measured on the outside when the animal needs the inside length.
Questions before you buy
- Does the size chart include your animal’s actual measurement?
- Is the food complete for that life stage?
- Can the cover be washed, and is the filling specified?
