Car parts are specific to a vehicle. A listing that says “fits many models” still needs the year, engine and body of your car. Use the compatibility information on the listing and, for anything that affects brakes, tyres, lights or steering, prefer a part you can match to a manufacturer reference.
Discover Cart does not tell you to fit safety-critical parts yourself. If you are unsure, a garage or the manufacturer’s guidance is the right next step. For ordinary accessories such as mats, chargers and organisers, check dimensions, the UK plug or socket, and whether a trim tool is included.
Motorbikes
Motorbike kit is not a car part with a different photo. Helmets, jackets and locks need the standard or rating the listing claims, the size, and whether the item is approved for road use where that applies.
A helmet shown on a stand is not a fit. Read the shell size, the fastening and the standard number. Electrical add-ons still need the connector and the voltage.
- The standard or rating named in the specification.
- Size and fastening.
- Whether the listing is protective kit, a part, or an accessory.
What to check
- Vehicle compatibility by registration year, engine and body, where the listing provides it.
- Part numbers and whether the item is a pair, a set or one side only.
- Fitting notes and tools required.
- Electrical accessories: voltage, fuse, and UK connector type.
- Returns, because a fitted or trimmed part may not go back.
Easy mistakes
- A photo of a full car when the product is one bulb or one mat.
- Universal mats that do not name the clipping system.
- Safety-critical parts with no maker reference and a vague fit list.
Questions before you buy
- Does the compatibility list include your exact vehicle?
- Are you buying one side or both?
- Should a qualified fitter install this?

The checks on this page are ready to use on a live Amazon listing. A product card is added only after that listing has been checked. It will show its own photo, a short note, and a Sponsored button. This empty shelf is not a recommendation.
